Georgetown Launches Apprenticeship Program
Program includes training at Horry-Georgetown Technical College

LIBERTY Steel Georgetown hosted a press conference on June 21, 2023, announcing the new Apprenticeship Program with formal training at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. The new apprenticeship program focuses on improving the technical skills of current employees, with plans to expand later on. Members of the program will have formal training at Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) and structured on-the-job training at Liberty. Each course offers certification from HGTC, certification through the Department of Labor, and employees will see structured pay increased as they progress through the program. A one-time monetary support service is available to the apprentices.
