Global Health Challenge Week 5 Update

Meet the #1 U.S. Employee In Steps

Karen Humphrey and her five grandchildren

For more than 20 years, Upper Sandusky’s Karen Humphrey has walked at least four miles every morning before she goes to work to get her day started off on the right foot. The Engineered Mesh Inside Sales Rep upped her game for the Global Health Challenge, adding another half-mile to full mile to her morning walk followed by a four to five mile walk when she gets home. Then, once she’s in for the evening, she gets on her small trampoline for even more steps while watching television. Karen’s two daughters and five grandchildren keep her motivated to stay in good health.

By the way, she walks outside all winter long unless the temperatures are single digits or the snow is too deep. Her team, Scrambled Legs, sure appreciates her dedication.

Karen shared, “I have been working on losing weight this year and have been succeeding very slowly. I am hoping all the additional steps that I am now taking will help with my weight loss. So far it has helped me get over the plateau I have been stuck on for a couple months and I am down another couple pounds since the start of the Health Challenge. I hope this will keep the ball rolling before we get into the Christmas holiday with all the extra cookies, candy and food that are constantly tempting me.”

Karen is the top stepper in the United States, ranking #9 individually worldwide.

You are an inspiration, Karen!

So how is everyone else doing this week? Feet of Fury continues to lead in the U.S. but has dropped to #4 globally this week, despite their total of more than 3 million steps. Steel Toed Soldiers jumped the most places from #122 last week to #75 for Week 5.

See the current rankings below.

Just a few weeks left. Who will take it all? It’s still anyone’s game at this point.
