When a major hurricane or tornado hits and wipes out a local electric grid or telecom system, our customer Preformed Line Products, PLP, is an unsung hero. Their products are required to be delivered to customers as quickly as possible in order to restore these critical services. And they use LIBERTY wire in some of their products.

With a U.S. headquarters in Cleveland, OH, PLP, is a worldwide designer, manufacturer and supplier goods necessary for the continued and immediate operation of other essential infrastructure and businesses for the energy and communications market, with a customer base including all utilities and communication service providers.

PLP’s products specifically protect and support the transmission and distribution of electric power and fiber optic communication lines. Their products are essential for their customers to keep their grids and communication networks (both wired and wireless) operating effectively. They also support critical networks for the local, state and federal government as well as the military.

The wire we produce is specifically used in the grips at the end of the line that supports telephone poles, as well as the splice cases on the lines above.
