It’s a New Machine for Johnstown

Johnstown recently completed the installation of its newest machine, Set 36.

This state-of-the-art wire drawing machine marks a significant advancement for Johnstown, enabling an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons. It also assumes a pivotal role in our operations by serving as a critical resource for supplying material to our high-coating electro-galvanizing line and supporting our three continuous annealing furnaces, while also ensuring the delivery of top-tier spring wire products.

Safety is paramount with this machine. Housed within a temperature-controlled, secured room, the high-voltage equipment ensures optimal operating conditions and security. This machine’s auto-locking doors, complemented by barred windows, establishes a secure environment during setup and operation. Internal lighting illuminates the workspace, enabling safe wire observation. Additional gate installations restrict access to non-maintenance personnel, further enhancing the safety around this machine. The machine operates quietly, minimizing the risk of hearing-related issues around this frame.
