Take a Walk on the Safe Side

Segregated pedestrian walkways help protect employees

Walking through several LIBERTY mills feels different today than a few months ago. Segregated pedestrian walkways in Johnstown, Upper Sandusky and Peoria Mid Mill replaced painted lines on the ground to provide protection to anyone on foot. Guardrails denote specific walkways and provide actual protection to employees as they traverse the mill.

Why is this important? By segregating employees from vehicular traffic as they move through the mill, there are fewer vehicle-on-pedestrian incidents. Getting hit by a moving vehicle can result in severe injuries—some of which may require extensive hospitalization.

LIBERTY is always looking for ways to improve safety, and this is one example of how we invest in keeping our employees safe.
